Panel discussion with Professor Francis J. Beckwith “Life After Roe: The Supreme Court's Decision in Dobbs and the Future of Abortion in America."

On September 23, Professor Francis J. Beckwith will be participating in a panel discussion at the University of Idaho in Moscow. Entitled “Life After Roe: The Supreme Court's Decision in Dobbs and the Future of Abortion in America,” he will be joined on the panel by Jenna Newmark (Dechert LLP, Litigation Counsel for Planned Parenthood), Prof. Brian Smentkowski (University of Idaho), Megan Wold (Cooper & Kirk, Former Clerk to Justice Samuel A. Alito), and Hon. Lawrence Van Dyke (United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit), who will serve as moderator. The event is co-sponsored by the Idaho Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society for Law & Public Policy Society and The Hale Institute at New St. Andrews College in Moscow. Professor Beckwith has published widely on the panel’s topic. His works include the book Defending Life: A Moral and Legal Case Against Abortion Choice (Cambridge University Press, 2007) as well as articles in Journal of Medicine & Philosophy, Journal of Medical Ethics, American Journal of Jurisprudence, International Philosophical Quarterly, Nova et Vetera, National Catholic Bioethics Quarterly, Ethics & Medicine, Human Life Review, Journal of Church & State, Nevada Law Journal, and Bibliotheca Sacra.
