Philosophy
I began as a doctoral student at Baylor in fall of 2021. I received a BA in philosophy from Hillsdale in 2019, and I received an MA in philosophy from Western Michigan University in 2021. I enjoy exploring formal epistemology and applying it to arguments for Christianity and theism. My dissertation will focus on developing rules and norms for updating on self-locating evidence with the hope of making some progress on problems that arise for probability theory from stuff like multiverse hypotheses and the Sleeping Beauty paradox. My career is outside of academia as a financial advisor with Edward Jones where I am training to help people build the kind of financial stability that Aristotle rightly takes to be an important part of human flourishing. When I'm not doing work in philosophy or finance, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Evelyn, and our very-spoiled dog, Ella, trying to blunder less at chess, lifting things in the gym and setting them down again, running very slowly, and reading old books.
