Philosophy
I received my B.S. in mathematics and a minor in philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville. I spent five years in “the real world” working as an actuarial analyst for an insurance company and then as a project coordinator for an educational think tank before realizing I liked ideas too much and deciding to come back to academia. I’m interested in the philosophy of perception and its relation to virtue ethics (particularly the virtue of humility), aesthetics, logic, and philosophy of mathematics. I’m a big proponent of approaching philosophy with wonder and a sincere desire to understand truth. Outside of philosophy, I love rock climbing, ultimate frisbee, math and number puzzles, playing music recreationally, and anything that involves flowers.
